A few months had past since the airing of Jump London. Zade had been training for a short while and was looking through various forums and web sites for more information about parkour in Nottingham in hope to find other people that practiced parkour.
Eventually after much looking Zade came across a parkour based forum on msn and saw that there was a member from Nottingham. He then decided to meet up with this person. From then on in they trained once a week and kept there eyes open for more people that might be into parkour as much as we were.
After a month odd or so later a few uk parkour web sites begun to pop up on the internet and then through this Zade discovered a few more people in nottingham that were into parkour.
We all then arranged to meet up once a week to train that chosen day being a Saturday, there was six of us in total after finding a few others. We had to self teach most of the moves that people take for granted now days.
We spend a good year in the only spot we found and thought was decent to train at which was u.n. we spent many days and weekends down there practicing having a laugh and then slowly ventured out more into the city and using other areas for parkour.
About a year later Zade created this site so more people could find out about us, come and train and learn from us. As well as other people that are into parkour in different areas can get in touch with us.
For months, the Parkour scene was relatively quiet, with a few curious people willing to give it a go join in for a few jams, people came and went.
However, since the airing of Jump Britain, The local interest in Parkour had exploded in Nottingham, and we are now a well established feature within the city, and the many people who know us.
With District 13 being released at cinema and dvd and other such films having parkour scences in them this should bring even more interest into parkour.
Most of the people that have attended our regular Saturday jams come back again and again and say the parkour vibe is really chilled, friendly and enjoyable to be apart of.
Since starting Parkour we at Parkour Nottingham we have met many new faces and have learnt a lot along the way and hope to do the same for a very long time to come.
